     The Chicago Community Classical Guitar Ensemble, was formed in 1997 by Ensemble Director and VCM faculty, Dr. Julie Goldberg. In addition to presenting concerts at VanderCook, CCCGE has performed at the Mid American Guitar Ensemble Festivals, Plymouth Place, Union Ridge Middle School, Hines Veterans Hospital, Chicago Public Schools, Washington Jayne Smith Home, Saint Mary of the Woods Concert Series, Three Crowns Park, Tinley Park Landmark Church Concert Series, Elmhurst Art Museum, Peoples Music School, Chicago Classical Guitar Society, Saint Xavier and North Park Universities, and Bethlehem Lutheran Artist Series in Dekalb, Il.

 

     Presenting outreach concert at Chicago area schools CCGE has performed with guitar ensembles from Lincolnway High-School, Union Ridge Middle School, Merit School of Music and others.  Recently the Chicago Community Classical Guitar Ensemble presented a joint concert with the Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin Guitarcheology guitar ensemble.

 

     The ensemble consists of guitarists from all walks of life. Most have professions outside of music; some are full-time students, and a few are professional musicians and teachers. All share a love for the instrument and enjoy the challenges and rewards of working together in an ensemble.
