THE CHICAGO COMMUNITY CLASSICAL GUITAR ENSEMBLE

Join Us

The Chicago Community Classical Guitar Ensemble rehearses weekly at VanderCook College of Music, 3140 South Federal Street, Chicago Il 60616, and presents concerts throughout the greater Chicago Area. Fall/Winter rehearsals begin each September and culminate with multiple performances in early December. Winter/Spring rehearsals begin each January and culminate with multiple performances in late April.

Although no formal audition is required, prospective members must play a nylon string classical guitar, use established classical guitar technique, and be able to read music easily through the fifth position. Guitarists interested in joining the group should attend a few rehearsals at the beginning of the semester and see if CCGE is right for them. There is a wide range of difficulty among the guitar parts performed within the orchestra. You will be matched with a part that meets your skill level and that is both challenging and rewarding to play.

A nominal membership fee is charged for each semester. Free parking is available directly in front of the VanderCook building.

Interested in joining the Chicago Community Classical Guitar Ensemble? Contact CCGE Director, Julie Goldberg at jgoldberg@vandercook.edu or or phone 312-225-6288.
